The Manitoba government has announced millions of dollars in new relief measures to support businesses and workers as they deal with the effects of an ongoing tariff war between Canada and the U.S.

The support includes additional money to increase existing programs and funds for new initiatives aimed at things such as interprovincial trade missions for Manitoba alcohol producers and providing wage subsidy support for employers.

The new measures also allow businesses to defer provincially administered tax payments such as retail sales tax and payroll tax from Sept. 1 to Dec. 31, 2026.
