Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew holds a news conference in Winnipeg to announce a pilot program for a new health and physical education curriculum in the province's elementary and secondary schools. 25 schools have volunteered to use the new curriculum, which makes in-person physical education mandatory for all students.
Also speaking are provincial ministers Mike Moyes (environment) and Tracy Schmidt (education), as well as Dr. Brent Roussin (chief provincial public health officer), Alyson Gysel (co-president of the Physical and Health Educators of Manitoba), and Noelle DePape (president and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Winnipeg).
