In this video, we take a few days to paddle the Manistee River near Manton, Michigan. This video will show you what you might expect from this stretch of river if you ever decide to do it yourself. In all my kayaking videos I will show you what the bridge crossings look like, as well as the landings, and of course, the flora and fauna as well.
In a couple of weeks I am leading a group of about 15 on a week-long canoe trip down this river and I thought it best to scout out a section of it before attempting to lead others down it. I have never done this river before, but I had some ideas of what to expect from so many others who have.
As I was planning this scouting trip, I happened to discover a group of others who were also going to be on the river at the same time, so I decided to hook up with them to check things out.
This river in northern lower Michigan is a great river for beginner paddlers to tackle, and Chippewa Landing was a great livery to work with in planning the trip. (chippewalanding.com)
