Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been sentenced for dangerous and drug driving in Reading.
Rajan Galot, aged 41, of Purley Rise, Purley on Thames, pleaded guilty to one count of dangerous driving and two counts of drug driving on 3 September 2025 at Reading Crown Court.
The charges relate to an incident on the A4 in Woolhampton in Reading on 1st January 2024, where Galot was driving a Porsche Taycan in poor weather conditions. He overtook an ambulance before colliding with a Ford Focus travelling in the opposite direction.
The occupants of the Ford Focus, including a one-year-old child, thankfully sustained only minor injuries.
Yesterday (20/10), Galot was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for 18 months. He was also sentenced 150 hours of unpaid work and has been disqualified from driving for 24 months. He must take an extended retest in order to regain his licence.
Sergeant Matt Cadmore, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This incident could have had far more tragic consequences. Driving under the influence of drugs and failing to adapt to road conditions puts lives at risk.
“We urge all drivers to take responsibility behind the wheel, drive to the conditions, never drive under the influence, and remember that your actions can have devastating impacts on others.”
