On September 2, 2024, at approximately 5:20 PM, a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Deputy was dispatched to a Publix located at 1180 Royal Palm Beach Blvd, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411, in reference to a disturbance.
The responding deputy learned from the store manager that an adult male was screaming at customers and causing a disturbance. The male appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was following employees into the employee section of the store. The manager stated the male walked into her office, which is not open to the public and has large signs stating "Authorized Personnel Only," causing an interview to be halted. The manager wished to pursue charges.
When deputies made contact, the male was asked to step outside, where he became extremely belligerent, yelling and screaming obscenities. A deputy smelled alcohol emanating from his breath, and he had glassy eyes and appeared to be swaying while standing, indicating he was under the influence of alcohol. The male was told he was trespassed from the plaza, but he refused to comply. At this point, deputies began to place the male into custody.
