On November 16, 2024, at 2:19 AM, Melbourne Police responded to a single-vehicle crash at Hickory St and E Hibiscus Blvd. The sole occupant was initially found unresponsive, leading Melbourne Fire Department to render aid. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the individual became enraged, yelling and spitting on an Officer. The person was arrested. During the detention, a doctor at Holmes Regional Medical Center advised that a small brain tumor putting pressure on the frontal lobe could be the cause of the erratic behavior. The individual was cited for traffic violations and a capias was requested due to the nature of the felony charges.
