Presenting a classical re-imagining of ABBA’s timeless anthem of love, heartbreak, and helpless surrender, arranged for orchestra.
In just a few weeks (as of writing these lines), Mamma Mia will officially turn 50 years old, having first been released by ABBA in September 1975. The song, originally tucked within their self-titled album, quickly became a global sensation — despite not being planned as a single. Its unexpected popularity helped solidify ABBA’s international success. To celebrate this milestone, the band has reissued the 1975 album in a deluxe anniversary edition, complete with remastered vinyl and collector’s artwork. Meanwhile, Mamma Mia! the stage musical also recently marked its 25th anniversary, further proving the timeless charm of this love-and-longing anthem that continues to captivate audiences across generations. ❤️
In this cinematic orchestral cover, I tried to transform the beloved pop hit “Mamma Mia” into a sweeping Baroque fantasy — bursting with majestic brass, dancing strings, glimmering celeste, flutes, and magical textures. 🌟 The fast-paced rhythm and major key joy of the original remain, but they are wrapped in the golden robes of classical elegance performed by orchestra, aimed at offering a new lens on one of the world’s most iconic love songs.
🎨 The accompanying video features AI-generated images created with MidJourney, inspired by the emotional grandeur of Rubens, Titian, and other Baroque masters' artwork. These images visually reflect the story told in the lyrics: a young woman caught in a cycle of longing, anger, and surrender — helpless before love’s magnetic pull. ❤️🔥🍇

Hatikvah (literally: The Hope) is the national anthem of Israel. The words express the 2000 year old hope of the Jews to return to their homeland.
The video clip shows a scene from the Arch of Titus in Rome. The arch was constructed in 81 AD to commemorate the Roman victory over the great Jewish rebellion in Judaea (70 AD). Thus began the nearly 2000 year old exile of Jews from their homeland, which ended with the establishment of the modern state of Israel.
The scene depicts a Roman Triumph led by Jewish slaves, exposing artifacts captured during the war. One of the artifacts is the Menorah (מנורה), a central religious artifact looted from the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem (the Second Temple), which the Romans burnt to the ground after capturing Jerusalem. The Menorah later became the emblem of the modern state of Israel (appearing at the end of the video).
Thus the symbol of Jewish defeat and exile became a symbol renewed Jewish independence and life in their ancient homeland.
The modern state of Israel was established only a few years after Jews suffered their greatest tragedy, the genocide of around 6 million European Jews by Nazi German and its collaborators during the 2nd World War.
This is an instrumental cover I created of Hatikva. The DAW I used for this orchestral MIDI remake is Reaper. Strings (violins, viola, cello, deep strings) dominate the first part of the song. Epic-style cinematic instruments dominate the second part, instruments such as brass instrument (trumpets, horns), oboe, clarinets, flutes, harp, and percussion instruments (timpani drums, drums, cymbals) .
