In this video, we’ll demonstrate how to use the Sailrite® HandyPress® with a C.S. Osborne W-1 die for fabric buttons with either a wire-eye or snap backing (Dura Snap). These three-piece die sets include a round cutter to make the fabric tops for the buttons, as well as spring-loaded clicker dies to assemble the buttons. Set the desired compression on the HandyPress by raising or lowering the upper shaft. Once it is set to your preference, no further adjustments are required. Using the HandyPress, combined with these dies, it will consistently punch round fabric disks with the hole cutter and then make fabric-covered buttons with the other two dies, all with a simple and easy pull of the hand lever. We call that process the "Sweet Spot" compression, similar to how a set of Vice-Grips™ work. Watch this video to learn how to use the HandyPress to make fabric covered buttons.
