In this video, we’ll demonstrate how to use the Sailrite® HandyPress® to install rivets and burrs with West Coast-style dies. Rivets and burrs are normally solid metal pieces that require a hand-held installation tool and a heavy mallet to set — but not with the HandyPress! Set the desired compression on the HandyPress by raising or lowering the upper shaft. Once it is set to your preference no further adjustments are required. Using the HandyPress, combined with these dies, it will consistently set the rivet and burr in your fabric or leather assembly with a simple and easy pull of the hand lever. We call that process the "Sweet Spot" compression, similar to how a set of Vice-Grips™ work.
