Hi! My name is Julie, and in this video, we make soap with blanched, dehydrated fiddleheads. Fiddleheads are a wild fern that grows locally and is the "rage" to consume in season. We usually have an excess, so we blanched the extra and dehydrated it, to be able to add to soups, smoothies and, you guessed it, SOAP. It adds a nice freckled color and just a little bit of exfoliation. Please follow all safety precautions when making soap. This is a basic tutorial only and does not cover basic safety protocols.
I added about 1/3 of a cup of dehydrated fiddlehead powder to a 12 pound batch of soap.
