Watch as I show you how I like to incorporate oats and honey into a cp soap. Here is the recipe with instructions on how to make the oat and almond liquid I used with my lye.
120 gms non-gmo canola oil
40 gms castor oil
160 gms coconut oil
240 gms lard
120 gms rice bran oil
120 gms cocoa butter
108.7 gms lye
200 gms oat/almond liquid
1.7 tsp sodium lactate
1.7 Tbsp honey
Bring half a cup of oats and 2 cups of distilled water to a boil. Place this in a blender and blend well. Strain and measure out 100 gms. Add 100 gms of almond milk for a total of 200 gms of liquid to dissolve lye. (I make my own almond milk by soaking 1 cup of raw almonds in water overnite, drain off that water and place nuts in blender with 2 cups of distilled water. Blend well and then strain.) Once lye has cooled and you are ready to soap, add sodium lactate to lye.
Mix 1.7 Tbsp of raw honey with equal amt of distilled water and gently warm. Add this to either warm oils prior to adding lye or add at trace.
This recipe has a 7% superfat and used a total of 800 gms of oils. I soaped with my lye and oils between 80-85 degrees F. I left this soap unscented as it has a lovely sweet smell. I cpop'd this but you could also choose to put it in the freezer to prevent gel.
Thanks for watching and feel free to ask any questions you may have!
