This video dives into this particular glitch or exploit that is known under the name of the Cute Charm Glitch. It's a weird phenomenon you can only find in the Gen 4 games, that being Heart Gold, Soul Silver, and then Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. I was primarily using my Heart Gold version for this.
