Here's a quick look at an alternative to using salt in your practice. This is much more environmentally friendly if practicing outside plus you have a reason to use all parts of an egg instead of throwing the shell away.

Egg shell powder is also called Cascarilla powder in Santeria and other paths. But has been adopted for use in more modern practices.
