Part 2 of creating Princess Bubblegum's iconography gown! More coming in part 3!
I did so much research when trying to decide on the ultimate battle: Real Candy vs Fake Candy. On the one hand, real candy is so realistic, but on the other, I didn't want to create something that was going to break or yellow in a few months! In the end, I sealed the candy in a two step process. First, all the candy was sealed with several coats of clear acrylic spray, in order to create a water barrier. After this I sealed the pieces in a clear resin, which strengthened the piece and also will keep any other environmental variables out. The candy itself is also mostly hard, non-perishable or preserved types that would last for decades by itself anyway, so I think this crown will last for a long time!
