We already have many of the technologies needed to address climate change — so what’s holding us back?

For Duke senior Nicholas Nease, the challenge isn’t invention. It’s implementation.

After experiencing the impact of climate change firsthand growing up in Florida, Nease is now focused on accelerating the transition to clean energy by tackling one of its biggest barriers: how we build and scale infrastructure. Through his work in Duke’s Design Climate program, he’s developing solutions to make emerging technologies like geothermal and nuclear more affordable and deployable at scale.
