Tired of dumping out water at airport security? New technology that was developed through research at Duke University could make that a thing of the past. Conventional X-Rays work great for identifying objects, but x-ray diffraction allows for distinguishing what type of contents are in a bag. Being able to tell the difference between a dangerous item and a safe item, which would create less false alarms and faster security lines while maintaining safety.

Quadridox is a Hillsborough, NC company founded by Duke Alumni who are bringing their Duke research to life.

Their x-ray technology also applies to the medical field, allowing for more detailed imaging than conventional x-ray technology. This would allow for more efficient and accurate testing in labs and hospitals.
