La Hougue Bie Museum on Jersey is home to the amazing Jersey Hoard, but look beyond all those coins, and you'll find the only currently known Iron Age leather purse on display.
My interpretation fills in some of the gaps to try and get a sense of how the original may have looked and worked, but it isn't an exact copy and will definitely have differeces to the original which hasnt yet been published in detail. I'm hoping to be able to visit again, compare this to the original, and see what might be changed on a second version. For now, though, this 'inspired by' design is remarkably practical and makes a really robust purse with lots of interesting details.
