In this video we create a Unity character using the free Unity Multipurpose Avatar (UMA) system and then make it talk with Salsa Lip Sync. The end result is a lifelike animated avatar that will sync to audio files. It can also be made to sync to a live microphone or process text files using text to speech, no need to wait for those voice actors to finish their work.
00:00 Intro - a short poetry reading
00::48 Assets used in this video: bit.ly/UnityVideoAvatar
01:14 Create the UMA character
04:10 Setup Salsa Lip Sync and the UMA integration
05:58 Change the voiced file, base animations
07:40 Make Avatar look at the camera
08:13 Outro
Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see videos on how to do more with these avatars. What do you want to achieve?

![Stream: Unity 3D: CiDy2, Gaia Pro and 3D Forge
In this video we build a new town using CiDy2 and 3DForge assets along with Simple Traffic System for cars driving around and my own code for managing pedestrians. In a previous stream I created the CiDy2 configuration using 3DForge, but we had a crash towards the end of the scene as were to test it in a new scene. So heres the follow up
00:00 Create a test terrain with Gaia
02:00 Create the CiDy2 City
06:45 Preventing buildings from spreading into the road
08:10 Add Simple Traffic System
10:10 Add pedestrians (see https://youtu.be/nzzS40XHWA8 for additional setup instructions)
Doing some live Unity work. This is a live stream so it has all the errors and mis-steps along the way, let me know in chat (or comments after the stream) if this is useful. Ill carry on doing edited tutorials, but these are much faster to produce ;-)
In these streams I play around with ideas for my game development work. Often mucking about with new Unity Assets to see what I can do with them. Come and join me, if you are thinking about buying the asset ask me if it can do [whatever you need]... lets experiment together.
