This is one way to make a leather book - not THE way :) Hope you enjoy the process.

I've been wanting to make a traditional style bookbinding project for a while, that is made using our bookpress, book vise, book plough and sewing frame. In terms of construction first of all I'm sewing signatures together using linen cord. Next up, I'm trimming the ends of the booklet with the book plough. After that I work on rounding the spine, and then separating the cords with an awl. At that point I work on the leather cover: cutting, skiving and gluing the leather onto the book boards.

This was such an enjoyable process and I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of this book.
