This video looks at the feasibility of using parts taken from a small X-ray head to recycle into a useful bench variable high voltage supply up to around 70kV. My current bench supply delivers up to 30kV at 500uA. I am looking to more than double both voltage and current using these parts. X-ray supplies tend to have centre tapped outputs giving half negative and positive outputs with respect to ground. This reduces the demands on insulation for the manufacturer but isn’t particularly uses full for experiments.
