Another year, another holiday dress. This one is a bit simpler than my previous ones, but I still really like it! In this video I construct the base and cut out the dress.

The velvet was purchased in the garment district, it's flat backed micro velvet. The "base" fabric is a stiff quilters cotton.

You can buy plastic from onlinefabricstore.net, michaels.com, or in the notion section of most stores that sell fabric. The clear ruler is a quilting ruler, you can get them online or from fabric stores.

The reason the bodice is so heavily boned is because the neckline is really deep, and I wanted everything to stay in place.

The pattern was drafted by me!
