With so much remote production, everyone is talking to their laptop or phone. It's up to the remote video producer to bring those people together into a program in a visually interesting way for the audience.

Additionally, we can also assist our remote guests by creating a special return feed so they can continue to see each other while also being able to see the program output the audience sees.

But why would we want to do this?
We want to do this because if these people were in the same room with each other, they could always see each other, no matter what the audience is looking at. By picking up on all kinds of non-verbal cues, they are able to non, smile, agree, disagree, and indicate when the have something else to say. By creating a special return video feed where they can ALWAYS see each other, this enables them to continue to use the non-verbal communication we have always used.

in this video, I show how I build this custom multi-view in vMix and how I route this return video to each of the guests on the panel discussion.
