*looks at watch* Is it time to finally finish this video?

This idea came to me one day as I was working on another video. It was more or less something me and my editing friends discussed as a cool what if story than it was supposed to be an actual AU video. But then I found this song, got a whiff of inspiration, figured I didn’t have to do that much masking anyways and went to work.

If this video looks a bit confusing…it’s because it’s kinda supposed to be? I guess XD. I wanted to make this more similar to an AMV than an actual crossover, mostly because I made very few changes to the original movie’s story.

Also because the song is so short there were things I couldn’t show so lemme get everything out of the way:

Proteus & Sinbad (+ their past):
Much like in the movie, they were best friends as kids. Sinbad, a poor boy on the streets, and Proteus as sole heir to the throne. 10 years prior to the start of the story, Sinbad ended up being so poor he had resulted into stealing from upper class nobles. Proteus finds out about this and is furious. Sinbad defends himself, and this causes a falling out between the two of them. He splits and leaves for the open ocean. When they reunite, Sinbad tries to play it cool but Proteus still deeply resents him for what he did and how he still continues to excuse his actions. Later when Sinbad claims Eris framed him, instead of offering himself for substitution, he offers to be a “babysitter” of sorts, to tag along with Sinbad as he gets the book back.

Monster Attacks:
The sea monster is moved until later in the story (which yes means there’s no action scene for the beginning of the film, but this is on purpose) where Sinbad and Proteus save each other and this has them start to rekindle their relationship. Ideally, while not shown, the fish island and snow bird also happen in the story, but the siren portion is completely removed since that wouldn’t work anymore without Marina.

Marina:
She ain’t here fam XD. Listen, Marina is an awesome female character, one of Dreamworks’ best. But she barely has a role with Proteus taking her place so I just decided she won’t be in the story.

Eris:
Eris’s plan works a little differently here. In my mind it’s pretty similar to the movie except for one fatal difference: Proteus. She figured if Proteus died on the mission (hence all the monster attacks; yes i changed her motivation for this) that this would cause a war between the 12 cities causing “glorious chaos”.

Romance:
Truth be told, I originally wrote this in mind with the two of them just being friends and rekindling their friendship (i like my bromances). But then I edited that boat scene XD. So now apart of the reason Sinbad ran away was because he couldn’t stand the idea of the friend he had feelings for resenting him for his mistakes. Do they get together in the end? Does Sinbad get friendzoned? I think you can figure out which route I went lol.
