700R4 TV cables can be tricky to dial in—especially in tight engine bays like a Chevy II. After the first successful outing with our ’65 Nova Wagon at King of the Open Road, we’re back in the shop fixing up a few things we discovered on the maiden adventure.
One big issue: no full throttle! That’s just not acceptable when you’ve got a dirty old 327ci small block Chevy built with classic ‘60s parts. To let this little mouse motor sing, I rebuilt the TV cable bracket with a compact, low-profile setup. This improves throttle linkage geometry, gives the clearance needed, and finally allows the 650cfm double pumper to open up to true wide-open throttle.
