What’s up Geekly Goods fam! 🤯 According to a new report, Magneto is expected to appear in the MCU’s X-Men film, and a rumor now claims three actors have been considered for the role: Lee Pace, Henry Cavill, and Matt Smith.
Deadline reports these three names are among those being weighed for Erik Lehnsherr, and journalist Jed Fontaine has separately claimed multiple industry sources believe Lee Pace has already quietly locked in the role, even though Marvel didn’t announce it at D23. Fans have overwhelmingly rallied behind Pace online too, praising his commanding presence from Foundation as the exact energy Magneto needs. Henry Cavill’s name has also been floated for Sabretooth or Captain Britain elsewhere in the rumor mill, so it’s clear Marvel is still weighing multiple paths for him.
Honestly, Lee Pace is perfect for this. Sure, he already played Ronan in Guardians of the Galaxy, but audiences could easily move past that and fully accept him as Magneto. That’s the ideal casting in my opinion.
