As mentioned previously, I use a Sword of Night and Flame for the awesome weapon skills that come with it. However, in order to increase the damage on the skill, you need to upgrade the weapon with somber smithing stones.
The first few somber smithing stones were quite easy to get. However after upgrading the weapons a few times, the requirement for rarer somber smithing stones means they are not as easy to find.
Somber smithing stone 7 in particular, is hidden in Leyndell Royal Capital in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds. Even though you can clearly see this location on the interactive map, to actually get to it is quite difficult.
The whole Leyndell Royal Capital is like a maze with multiple levels. To actually get into an area there are very specific entrances that you have to find. In this case, lots of ladders, stairs, dropping down into specific objects (e.g. pipes) and trying to survive ambushes.
