Magic Monk | Gotham Knights unboxing + first play (Xbox Series X, Aorus FO48U, Pixel 7) @magicmonk | Uploaded November 2022 | Updated October 2024, 12 hours ago.
It's been a very long time since I bought a physical disc game, so I thought it would be fun to unbox one for you guys to see. I probably have not bought a physical copy of a game since Steam came out - why would you when you can just download it?
Nowdays though, there is a reason. It seems like I can get the disc version cheaper than the downloaded version - in fact, about $20AUD cheaper - so I bought the game on disc instead of downloading it from the Microsoft store. I also had a JB Hi-fi voucher to use so I thought why not.
The graphics is really cool on this game - you start off with an awesome Batman vs Ra's al Ghul intro movie that takes like 15 - 20 minutes. I really enjoyed the fight and also enjoy the story. The game play was quite similar to Assassin's Creed which I've been playing, so it is a familiar feel.
I was pretty impressed with the game but I do have to say the frame rate is a little slow - it doesn't feel as smooth as Assassin's Creed Odyssey but I guess the better graphics slightly makes up for it. Would you buy this game? One downside to buying physical discs, which I was reminded of today, was that you can't take out the disc and play it - you have to put in the disc.
