I wrote this song the day I got laid off from my job a week ago yesterday. They just didn't have enough work for me, so they couldn't keep me on. If you've ever had a life-jolt, you know what it feels like, and it doesn't feel good.
For me, the choice is always the same. Do I continue on in faith, or do I retreat into solitude and sulk in self-pity? This song is all about facing that decision head-on and choosing to move forward. I will continue to move forward. I'm excited to see what new doors of opportunity will come of this.

This week was ... horrible ... and humbling. I thought there was no way I could possibly get a song written and released this week after my studio computers motherboard refused to power on on Monday, and then realizing that all of my studio hard drives were fried as well. Needless to say, I was ... frustrated. What was worse, was I felt inspired to write a tribute song praising my amazing companion and wife, Sarah as it was her birthday last Tuesday. It seemed everything was against this song being written and produced. By Friday, I had rebuilt the computer with new components and was ready to begin writing, realizing that getting a song and video written and fully produced seemed unlikely.
I dont quite understand how it happened, but Im absolutely thrilled to present to you, my song to my wife, Its Gonna Be Great.
Somehow it got done in 1.5 days.

So, theres a phenomenon that Im pretty sure a lot of people go through (I definitely did when I was a kid) that Ive never tried to explain before, but for some reason, about 3 weeks ago, while I was producing my song, Something To Say, it came straight to the forefront of my mind, and I knew I needed to write a song around it. What Im talking about is ... being scared of losing yourself if you decide to change some aspect of yourself that is keeping you down. For example, the mindset of I just wouldnt be me if I didnt (insert any number of negative attributes here) or Im not the type of person to go out of my way to (insert any number of positive attributes here). Its weird. It seems people wont risk becoming a better person because they might not like what comes out the other side. This song is all about struggling to become the best version of yourself, whatever that might look like. Dont be afraid of letting things go that are keeping you down, or trying new things that might help someone else. I promise youll like yourself better if you keep trying.
