MAGEARNA TRICK ROOM IS THE TEAM TO BEAT | 2025 VGC REG J
Howdy Ho, YouTube! Today, I am using another team created by my friend, Mr. Curtastic, featuring Magearna and Calyrex Ice Rider. This is the most prominent archetype going into Reg J, so I wanted to feature it after the World Championships.
Magearna and Calyrex have great synergy. Magearna gets a special attack boost if anything is KO'd, and Calyrex gets an attack boost anytime it KO's anything. The synergy is incredible. You can also get a min-speed Magearna, so they work well in Trick Room.
The rest of the team is standard Hard Trick Room. Choice Scarf Annihilape can Final Gambit while Magearna sets up Trick Room and gives the little robot an immediate 2x boost to its special attack. Indeedee sets up Psychic Terrain to stop priority, redirects to keep its partner safe, and can set up Trick Room itself.
Incineroar has great pivoting potential to efficiently swap Pokémon and handles Amoonguss, a common Trick Room answer. Finally, Ursaluna is a world champion. Of course, it has to be on the team!
