Synopsis:
Magdalena is a documentary portrait of legendary L.A.-based and Venezuelan-born artist Magdalena Suarez Frimkess (b.1929). The film explores her personal history, creative process and daily life in her Venice, California studio where she creates her celebrated hand painted ceramic sculptures and vessels imbued with reflections on her life and pop culture.

Director Bio:
Mary Wigmore is a documentary and television director. She has made films about artist James Turrell, ceramicist Magdalena Suarez Frimkess, painter Louise Bonnet and L.A. post-punk band That Dog. Mary co-directed the award winning feature documentary Birth Story: Ina May Gaskin and the Farm Midwives. She has directed television episodes of Single Drunk Female, American Horror Story, 9-1-1 and Scream Queens. Mary is a graduate of the Columbia University School of the Arts (MFA Directing).
