The Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular returned this year to the Big Apple in iconic style. Usually you can find a spot along many of the parks and walkways along the skyline in Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan, but we decided to party this year from a cruise boat in the East River, courtesy of Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises. With a great live DJ, an onboard bar and some pretty subpar food (make sure you eat beforehand!), it was a fantastic way to celebrate one of the biggest firework displays in the world, and one of the best days of the year. That all being said, being almost underneath the light displays itself was definitely different, and we will opt to watch from a different vantage point in NYC next year. All in all, the show lasts 25 minutes and is launched from five different barges in the East River. Also, cruising around Manhattan to see the Statue of Liberty, the Freedom Tower and the Empire Statue Building before and after was pretty cool as well. Hope everyone had a happy 4th! If anyone was wondering, we put the Star Spangled Banner over top the video to drown out the music playing from other boats, which YouTube would then detect and block this video.
