Apple release macOS Mojave this week and with it comes the first release of the Apple Home app for macOS. This port of the iOS app finally gives us control over our Homekit homes natively in the OS without having to reach for our iPhones or iPads. As a first release, its not bad and it's certainly better than nothing, but it's also a far stretch from the polished experience that I usually associate with the Apple experience.
