Old electronic devices with surface mount electrolytic capacitors are often affected by capacitor leakage.

Sometimes the battery damage goes beyond repair, and when it does its fantastic that there are geniuses like Bolle out there, recreating the old logic boards from scratch. This is part one of the meticulous process of transferring components from a battery damaged board to the shiny (and purple) new one.
