Welcome to Act 5 Scene 3 of Macbeth 👀📖
This scene takes place inside Dunsinane Castle and shows Macbeth clinging to power through denial and bravado.

Macbeth prepares for battle as reports arrive of approaching forces.
He reacts with anger and impatience, dismissing any sign of danger.

He places full trust in the witches’ prophecies.
Because he believes no man born of a woman can harm him, he feels untouchable.

A servant brings news that Macbeth’s forces are deserting him.
Macbeth responds with threats rather than leadership.

A doctor reports on Lady Macbeth’s worsening condition.
Macbeth demands a cure, but even he cannot command the mind to heal.

Despite cracks beginning to show, Macbeth refuses to face reality.
He arms himself and prepares to fight, relying on prophecy rather than judgement.

This scene highlights the contrast between confidence and truth.
Macbeth is powerful in title, but increasingly alone.
