Welcome to Act 1 Scene 7 of Macbeth 👀📖
This scene takes place inside Macbeth’s castle and centres on doubt, persuasion, and moral conflict.

Macbeth is alone and wrestles with his conscience.
He lists all the reasons why killing King Duncan would be wrong.

Duncan is his guest, his king, and his relative.
Macbeth also knows that Duncan is a good and fair ruler.

Macbeth decides that he will not go through with the murder.
At this point, his ambition is not enough to outweigh his guilt.

Lady Macbeth enters and immediately challenges him.
She mocks his courage and questions his manhood.

Through manipulation and pressure, she breaks down his resistance.
She presents a detailed plan and promises success.

By the end of the scene, Macbeth agrees to commit the murder.
His inner conflict is resolved, but at a terrible cost.
