Welcome to Act 1 Scene 2 of Macbeth ๐๐
This scene shifts from mystery to action and shows us the brutal reality of war.
The scene is set in a military camp near Forres โ๏ธ๐๏ธ
King Duncan receives reports from a wounded captain who has just come from the battlefield.
We learn that Scotland has been attacked by rebels and foreign forces.
The fighting is fierce and chaotic, but Macbeth and Banquo fight bravely and turn the battle around ๐ฉธ๐ฅ
Macbeth is described as fearless and ruthless in combat.
He defeats the rebel Macdonwald and later helps stop the invading Norwegian army.
As a result, the traitorous Thane of Cawdor is sentenced to death.
King Duncan decides that his title will be given to Macbeth โ even though Macbeth has no idea yet ๐
This moment is important because it shows Macbeth as a hero before his downfall.
It also sets up the fulfilment of the witchesโ words from the opening scene.
By the end of this scene, fate is already in motion, even though Macbeth is still off stage.
