As part of the special project Restoration, the Ukraïner team visited Lviv, a city that, despite its distance from the frontline, has also been targeted by enemy missiles. During the full-scale invasion, many Ukrainians fleeing occupation and shelling sought relative safety in the west of Ukraine, including Lviv.
Positioned in the rear, the city and its residents have been able to serve as a volunteer hub and provide opportunities for children's development. The Ukraïner team visited the new Unbreakable Mothers Center, where they spoke with one of its designers and residents. We also interviewed a representative of the city authorities about the restoration of residential buildings following a large-scale shelling in July 2023. Additionally, residents of the Horodotska Hromada near Lviv shared how they transformed their local library, an architectural monument, into a modern cultural and educational space.
