"So thankfully, the moon is going to be celestial orbit, that you can see, it doesn't really matter how much air pollution is going on. For the milky way you would want to get out a little further away from the pollution but the moon you can see really no matter where you are as long there is clouds or bunch of (inaudible). Becuase we are pretty much in prime monsoon season in Las Vegas, we are going to experience rain clouds like this and so that is something unfortunately we have to work around but we do gaps in some areas of the clouds, so what we are hoping on is to get a nicer gap, take some pictures, enjoy the lunar eclipse regardless of the weather and just get out as a community.

"When I was very little, I grew up in a town that no body has ever heard of called Pierce City. It's in Missouri and I lived on a farm and there is nothing to do out there except see the stars at night, so I just grew up seeing the milky way as a child. So when you have nothing to do you learn very quickly. I had encyclopedias that I would open up and get the maps of the stars. My dad also had a telescope, so he also got me into using the telescope very young and taught me how to use a sky chart map that would like turn, like a compass thing, I don't know how to, what do you call it, I guess a sky map. But i used to use that very young and yes, what about me, I have always been into astronomy. There's no what got me into it, I have always been into it."

"It is kind of unusual but I did hear that we also have a fire up north (inaudible) so I am assuming that where a lot of cloud pollution is from not rain hopefully, because that would suck.
STORYLINE:
Stargazers gathered in Las Vegas on Friday to watch the lunar eclipse.
The moon passed through the darkest part of Earth's shadow and turned a reddish colour.
The 96.2% partial eclipse is expected to be visible across the Americas, Europe and Africa.
Solar and lunar eclipses happen due to a precise alignment of the Sun, Moon and Earth.
