Want to use up your entire layer cake bundle? I’ll show you how to create a scrappy quilt border for a playful finish. Prefer a sleek, contemporary look? Opt for a chunky border using your background fabric for a bold statement.

Both sizes will yield a 67” x 85” jumbo twin-size quilt.
Yardage:
With Scrappy Border
42 count - 10" squares
3 ½ yards of background fabric
With Modern Background Border
24 - 10" squares
4 ¾ yards of background fabric

Cutting:
Prints:
Select 12 - 10" squares for the outer star points
Subcut;
4 - 5" squares per square
Select 12 - 10" squares for the center checkerboard
Subcut;
4 - 2 ½” x 10” rectangles per square

Background:
Subcut;
48 - 5" squares
Subcut;
48 - 4 ½” squares
The rest will be for sashing and border
