I guess we can't blame Daos for wanting to show off a particular ability after waiting nearly 100 years to be able to do so but, as the true final boss, it's not really much more difficult than the other Sinistrals courtesy of Jerin's Mirror ability.
But what about Lufia in the end?
Why do we have to continue to pay such horrendous prices in the process of saving the world?
Maybe Dual Blade's just a big troll though.

I figured this was a good time to revisit the Old Cave and take care of what ends up being its final layer that no one has completed to date- and yet we still find a plethora of empty chests.
Turns out that some of the enemies in there really make us feel like were ill-prepared, but some strategic retreats and choosing our battles leads to victory and cleaning everything out.
The bad news is the equipment haul is actually fairly disappointing compared to other floors.

Our first SMZ3 chaos race in a good while courtesy of Yosh calling for one at the start of the year, so we can put the blame entirely on him.
Except for the fact that I managed to roll crap seeds for all five of us.

Hugo really doesnt deal well with people, especially when theyre offering friendship and help, but thats his problem. Were here to climb the tower and kill things.
Thankfully, the rest of the Silent Sands proceeds smoothly and even Khonsclard doesnt present much of a problem.
There is, however, no cutscene between the end and entering the Blooded Blight, but those damn Holy Knights still manage to get ahead of us and not disable all of the traps!

Our mountain expedition peaks at the home of series regular Hagel, who youd think was completely deaf with how perfectly he ignores us. Thankfully, a good look at Felts sword snaps him out of his trance and, after a rather uncomfortable scene where we almost have to call for an adult, he agrees to help us out.
At this point I havent been able to craft a Return Gem, so its back down the mountain we go.
Thankfully, its not a long trip and, once we get back to Agito Cove, Hagel helps us out in another way by teaching us weapon synthesis rather than doing the job hes supposed to. For the most part, you want to focus on opening up each new weapon as soon as youve learned the current ones skill and once you have the right items and Mana to proceed along the tree. The reviews you have on the related item do transfer to the weapon, but min/maxing weapon crafting isnt really worth it until end-game.
After all that, Felt gets his first look at the sea but reneges on the idea to swim across it.

Its kind of hard to believe how smart these two can be at times while being idiots at other times. And yet they manage to be both at the same time over the course of this route as Roger has his own obvious ulterior motive for joining in on the investigation. Thanks to that, its one of the best routes overall even if its not in the top 3.
Gameplay-wise this proves to be one of the best pairings in the game as Kohtaro can rake in the high score against regular enemies while Roger takes care of the bosses. It leads to a very surprisingly good run if you pay close attention to something that happens in this run that doesnt in any of the others.

The various Marisa titles created by Double Cluster have been fairly memetic in the Touhou fandom since their creation. As I already did a Lets Play of Mega Mari, I figured that it would be interesting to return to the even more difficult Super Marisa World, which is full of Super Mario references in its bosses.
However, I still have PTSD from playing through the game years ago, so I convinced three members of the Bakashop Quartet to do a blind race of the game with some assistance from me.
Will there be a winner? Or will there just be survivors?
