Wrath of Math | LU-Decomposition Method for Solving Linear Systems | Linear Algebra Exercises @WrathofMath | Uploaded 3 weeks ago | Updated 1 hour ago
We go over how to solve systems of linear equations using the method of LU decomposition also known as LU factorization. To solve a linear system Ax=b using this method we first factor the coefficient matrix A into a product LU of a lower triangular matrix and an upper triangular matrix. We then replace Ux with a new variable vector y, solve Ly=b then knowing y we can solve Ux=y for x. #linearalgebra
