We integrate 1/(1+x^2) from -∞ to ∞. This improper integral can be evaluate by splitting up into two type 1 improper integrals each with one finite bound. By splitting the integral at 0, then evaluating the two improper integrals and adding, we'll determine the value of this integral, keeping in mind some basic facts about tangent and arctan. #calculus2
