Here's a little snippet from the drum recordings for Hamburg's Syndemic (well, this is not an actual song, just fannying about really).
I uploaded this video to show you how almost raw unedited drums sound during tracking (there's some reverb and EQ on this, so it's not entirely raw, but a rough tracking mix...so this is what's actually in the drummers headphones).
This is not the final mix as it'll end up on the record of course , but IMO the drums should sound in the ballbark even before you start mixing.
Drums: DW Performance

Mics, preamps and skins used: ...maybe I'll add that later, too much to type right now ;)
