An acoustic track I just discovered featuring Jeff Hamphton on acoustic guitar & me on vocals. I remember tracking this song on a Tascam analog 8-track in one take & then overdubbing vocal harmonies. Jeff was a songwriting partner of mine for many years. He was very unique & had a distinct way of playing guitar. This Leslie Duncan song was recorded as a lark & we tried to keep it somewhat true to the version Elton John had recorded in 1971. I added delay & reverb to give it an otherworldly effect. I think it's evident here.
Just putting this up in the hopes that some of Jeff's family comes across it. He passed away several years ago & this song remains one of the favorites we recorded at his little makeshift home studio decades ago. Rest in peace old friend...
