So, when Tim offered to collaborate, having heard his music before, I agreed - and I'm so glad I did. He sent me a progression he had recorded complete with guitar, bass, and programmed drums - and it immediately caught my creative attention. It wasn't much after that I had lyrics, acoustic drums, and melody sent over, and a song was born.

Hello friends! Last weekend I had the amazing opportunity to go to a conference attended by 4 bonafied Nashville hit-song writers.
Talk about learning something! Ive never considered myself a great songwriter, and that conference confirmed it. I did, however, put pen to paper and took furious notes.
This weeks song is another original and I tried my best to put to work the things I learned about songwriting. The title is Fear on Fire, and attacks the whole concept of courage and the choice we all have to fuel the fire of courage within us and reach heights we never thought we could.

Ive never been quite so perplexed as to how to go about re-creating a song as I was with this one. I wanted to stay true to the original, which was fairly ground-breaking in its time, yet I needed it to ride the line of hard rock as well. The result was a whole lot of vocal tracks, guitars, piano, and a harp, among others.

I think everyone should enjoy good music.
Hi there! Im Jason from Magic Jones. Im a drummer who pretends to play guitar and sing. I also own and operate a recording studio called ArtCitySound. I do all my own engineering. I figured having videos to watch along with the music would be a good idea, so I started making my own videos, too.
To me, music means everything. Its magic. It has a power to make us feel like nothing else. To a large degree, it defines who I am. I think there is a power in music to uplift, to heal, and to help us be better humans. Music can help give life meaning. Its almost magic.

It only took one listen of this song by HazeyDaze for me to consider covering it. The more I listened the more I was convinced. Theres something sticky about this song. It seems to convey the positive hope of a negative situation. Im not exactly sure what its about, but I really like the feel of it. If you havent heard the original yet, Id highly recommend it.
