Hey there! Im back with a song that Ive tried to remix before, but this time I did it right lol. The Sonic Mania OST and Tee Lopes himself inspired me to take music more seriously, so I have a lot of respect for this song, and even more for that insane piano solo that it has, but Im happy that I finally managed to transcribe it.
I had a lot of fun with the sound design here, I mostly tried to make the remix sound faithful to the original, (cause Im tired of those remixes that just use sonic instruments and call it a day) but I think that the highlight of it is the imitation of the Mania brass of power, I spent like a whole hour designing that, but I think it ended up sounding pretty decent; another interesting point is that I used a polyphonic instrument for those synth strings that play in the background, and since that kind of instrument allows me to play 2 or more notes at once, the remix sounds like its using more channels than the genesis has.

I wanted to do a silly video and since the Palmtree Panic Past song was some sort of meme a couple months ago, I went for it.
The approach I took with this arrangement was to take unpredictable or unexpected paths when it comes to chord progressions cause Ive learning a bit about them and discovered a technique that allows you to compose stuff that sounds like Giant Steps, which I tried at 0:41.

After several months of hard work, I can finally present to you the OMORI video I promised, the making of this video has been quite the ride for me, I even questioned myself several times if I should cancel it or not but im glad I didnt as it was probably my favorite video of all the ones Ive ever done so far. Remember that community post I made a couple months ago asking you what was your favorite OMORI song? Well, I was collecting data from you in order to make this medley xd. What a ride huh, and we are finally here, Im supposed to say something deep, but all I can say is that IM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW. I even had the chance to meet talented pixel artists on the way that helped me a lot to create this video, definitely very nice people to talk to, I want to give them my most sincere thanks for their hard work on this. Since the battle network collection is out and this is my favorite MegaMan iteration, I had to remix one of my favorite songs from the series. I think Im getting the hang of fm instruments, my approach this time was to make the background ones resemble the GBA instruments, while the lead is completely different to accentuate the melody phrases.
Also, online mode do be dead 💀, or maybe they are just afraid of me.
