Author & historian Dr. Prit Buttar joins Little Wars TV to contextualize the glut of 1950s German postwar memoirs that shaped our understanding of the war on the Eastern Front. If "the winners write the history," why did the losers seize hold of the narrative so effectively?

We used many German primary sources to research our Winter Storm series--sources likes Raus, Mellenthin, Manstein, and more. And while these memoirs and accounts remain valuable, Dr. Buttar persuasively reminds us to read skeptically. It's a good lesson for any historian...especially for those of us interested in the Eastern Front.
