I was taught my parents would not — could not — die.

So when my dad did, everything started to unravel. We believed there would be a miracle. We waited for him to come back. We held onto dreams and interpretations that kept us stuck. Three and a half years later, my mom died too — unmedicated, no hospice, just faith.

In this clip, I share what it was like losing both of my parents inside a high-control religious group, and how grief forced me to ask: What do I do with this?
