Thanks for checking out my tribute to the beautiful winter song "Snow"! This has been my favorite holiday piece ever since I first heard it on a Christmas Moods CD as a child. The combination of harp, Irish whistle, and voice is stunning in its simplicity, and the lyrics (from a poem by Archibald Lampman) are truly mesmerizing.
We expanded on Loreena's original piece with more background harmonies, but wanted to maintain the minimal essence of the piece as well.
This is my first "home grown" music video in that the entire thing was shot by my dear husband, Andrew Aversa ("zircon")! We traveled all the way to western Maryland in order to track down some actual snow for the shoot, and it was quite an adventure. Hope you enjoy! ^_^

The meadows and far, sheeted streams

Like some soft minister of dreams,
The snowfall hoods me around.
In wood and water, earth and air,
A silence is everywhere.
Save when at lonely spells,
Some farmer's sleigh, urged on,
With rustling runners and sharp bells,
Swings by me and is gone --
Or from the empty space, I hear
A sound remote and clear.
The evening deepens and gray
Folds closer earth and sky.
The world seems shrouded,
So far away.
Its noises sleep, and I,
I secret as yon buried streams,
Plod dumbly on and dream.
I dream.

I dream.
