Mount Saint Helens is an iconic mountain that famously erupted in 1980. It's a fairly easy mountain to summit without technical gear (see video here: youtu.be/brFSX5nIahs?si=Ya4jA63XfyzAzkpx), but you can also do the Loowit Trail to circumnavigate the mountain. I accessed the Loowit Trail via the June Lake Trailhead on the south side of the mountain and then went clockwise, as the tougher terrain seems to be southwest of the mountain with several boulder fields. You cross the south fork of the Toutle River at about mile 12 (30 miles total) then hit Windy Pass on the northeast corner of the loop.
